Dams Break Too

A single tear crawls,
then she bawls,
like a dam breaking,
her sadness rushing.

It seems out of nowhere,
but the crack and fissure
have long been there,
hidden under the pressure.

Out of sight.
alone in her plight.
No patching needed.
Her wound can’t be mended.

Soon the pain ebbs;
and the water stills.
