A Minute for You

I want to hold your hands,
feel your fingers, crossed with mine;
walk down the beach with you by my side,
if only my love could win you back.

I want to kiss your lips,
one more time.

And once more, and another,
and another.

That soft subtle touch,
fires up my body,
like electric wires in my veins.
If only the memory of it is enough.

This hunger runs deep.
And the words, “I miss you”,
do not even begin to cover it.
If only, if only.

For missed chances,
For short-lived joys,
For things I cannot have,
anymore.
